If you wish to become a community hero, join the Meade County Fire Department! Serve the Meade County Fire Department, it covers the Meade County Fire District, Louisville City Fire District, Louisville County Fire District aswell as the FPA(KY)50-4.

Taking up the service of volunteer firefighting is an immense honor and duty in Meade County.

 

The Meade County Volunteer Fire Department is one of the most important public services the county has to offer. We provide medical assistance, fire protection, fire prevention, technical assistance and more.

 

Founded in 1899, the then MCoFPU (Meade County Fire Protection Unit) was commanded by brave individuals focused on the rescue of others. This tradition continues into the present day and will carry on into the future.

Although the MCoVFD relies on volunteers, cash bonuses up to $30 may also be awarded if excess budget is available.
