On the 29th of April 1996 at 18:10, the Meade County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the National Park Service and the MCoVFD to dispose of animals suspected of carrying disease. After an examination by the MCoVFD, the animals were determined to be non-contagious and were subsequently disposed of by the NPS.
